ITC Posts March 1, 2006 Version of HTS to its Web Site (Reflects CAFTA-DR Changes)
The International Trade Commission (ITC) has posted to its Web site a March 1, 2006 Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. (HTS). The March 1, 2006 version of the HTS (Revision 1) reflects the changes necessary to implement the U.S. - Central America - Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) for El Salvador.

(On February 28, 2006, President Bush issued Proclamation 7987 to amend the HTS to implement CAFTA-DR for El Salvador. According to the proclamation, CAFTA-DR for El Salvador is generally in effect for goods entered, or withdrawn from warehouse, for consumption on or after March 1, 2006.

March 1, 2006 HTS is Available Online, No Paper Copy Will be Published
The March 1, 2006 version of the HTS is available online only, and can be viewed and/or downloaded from the ITC's Web site.
ITC sources have confirmed that a paper version of the March 1, 2006 HTS will not be published.
ITC sources further state that the Government Printing Office (GPO) is not expected to publish another paper version of the HTS until the mid-year (July 1, 2006) supplement. (The current paper version of the HTS is dated January 1, 2006.)
