CBP states that this December 21, 2005 error has caused ABI filers to receive rejections when they attempted to transmit application PN, periodic statement authorization messages. This error has also caused premature payment authorizations of the January PMS to CBP's collection unit.
According to CBP, the following actions are being implemented to correct the problems caused by the premature issuance of the January PMS:
- Importer and broker accounts will not be debited for the January PMS erroneously issued on December 21, 2005 and CBP's Collection Unit is rejecting the erroneous debit authorizations received on that date.
The December PMS debit authorizations will be processed as usual on the evening of December 21, 2005.
- ACS/ABI has adjusted its programming to allow filers to retransmit their PN authorizations, effective Friday morning, December 23, 2005. As a result, filers should delay retransmitting PN Authorizations for PMS until that date.
- The January 2006 PMS debit authorizations will process as regularly scheduled on January 24, 2006.
