The following documents have recently been posted to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA's) Web site:

Qualified Health Claims: Letter of Partial Denial - Tomatoes and Prostate Cancer. The FDA has issued a letter of partial denial to the Lycopene Health Claim Coalition regarding certain health claims the Coalition is seeking to make with regard to consumption of tomatoes and/or tomato sauce and prostate cancer. Qualified Health Claims: Letter of Partial Denial - Tomatoes and Prostate, Ovarian, Gastric, and Pancreatic Cancers. The FDA has also issued a letter of partial denial to the American Longevity Petition regarding certain health claims the Petition is seeking to make with regard to the consumption of tomatoes and/or tomato sauce and a reduced risk of prostate, gastric, ovarian, and pancreatic cancers. FDA Health and Diet Survey - 2004 Supplement.The FDA has issued the 2004 Supplement of its periodic Health and Diet Survey which is designed to measure and monitor public awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and reported behavior related to food and nutrition. The 2004 Supplement is the 9th such survey since 1982 and provides information about: (1) consumers' knowledge of relationships between dietary fats and the risk of coronary heart disease; and (2) consumers' attitudes toward diet, health, physical activity, particularly perceptions and practices related to carbohydrates.
