According the American Shipper, PierPass has said that members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) will hold a routine stop-work meeting from 5 p.m. Thursday through 3:00 a.m. Friday. 2. US Files WTO Case Against Turkey Over Rice Restrictions

According to the Office of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), on November 2, 2005, the U.S. filed a World Trade Organization (WTO) case against Turkey due to its unfair import licensing requirements that have caused U.S. rice exports to Turkey to decline by two-thirds since 2003. 3. PHMSA Issues Technical Correction to its Final Rule on Hazmat Regs

The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) has issued a technical correction to its September 28, 2005 final rule that clarified and refined the hazardous materials (hazmat) regulations. The PHMSA's correction deletes a "" symbol that erroneously appeared in 49 CFR 172.101.
