February 2005 Census Trade Data for Textiles and Apparel

The Commerce Department's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) has posted to its Web site the following five monthly reports containing official February 2005 trade data from the Department of Census for imports and exports of textiles and apparel:

Major Shippers Report. This report provides general import statistics by date of import (regardless of date of export), by country and category (including merged and part category) for countries that exceed certain thresholds.

Total Quantity (TQ) Data. These interactive reports show imports from all suppliers by category and HTS number.

Trade Balance Report. This report shows imports, exports, and calculates the trade balance for textile and apparel trade with the world and with selected trade partners. This report contains products that have been assigned a category number, as well as certain products that have not been assigned a category number.

U.S. Possessions Report. This report shows imports from the Northern Marianas, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa by category.

Import Report. This report shows general imports of cotton, wool, man-made fiber (MMF), silk blend, and non-cotton vegetable fiber textiles and apparel from the world and from selected countries or regions. These imports are not listed by category.

OTEXA's Web site also contains Expanded Export Data (by Schedule B number), the Export Market Report (by textile group, country, etc.), as well as other reports and reference material.

The Import Report is available via fax only.
