USTR Issues Addendum To its List of Product Petitions Accepted For the 2004 GSP Annual Review
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has issued an addendum to its February 25, 2005 notice which announced the product petitions that were accepted for further review in the 2004 Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Annual Review.

This addendum adds four self-initiated competitive need limitation (CNL) waiver requests for the following country/tariff number combinations:
4412.13.40 | Indonesia | Plywood sheets n/o 6 mm thick |
7113.11.50 | Thailand | Silver jewelry, valued over $18 per dozen |
9001.30.00 | Indonesia | Contact lenses |
9009.12.00 | Thailand | Electrostatic photocopying apparatus |

In its February 25, 2005 notice, the USTR listed the petitions it accepted for the 2004 GSP Annual Review, including petitions to make additional products GSP eligible, petitions to remove products from GSP eligibility, and petitions for waiver of GSP CNLs.

USTR Announces Hearings, Invites Comments
The USTR has announced that it will be holding open hearings on the four self-initiated CNL waiver requests on May 2, 2005 in Washington, DC and invites comments in support of or in opposition to any of these four self-initiated CNL waiver requests.
- requests to appear at hearing and pre-hearing briefs are due by 04/28/05
- post-hearing and rebuttal briefs are due by 05/27/05
