Still Only One Agency 'Operational' in ACE/ITDS

To date, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is the only participating government agency (PGA) to have become operational in ACE/ITDS. The FMCSA became operational in ACE/ITDS as part of ACE Release 4 (Truck Manifest).

More Than Twenty Federal Agencies are Considered to be ITDS PGAs

According to the Spring 2005 "ACE Modernization Monitor," with the recent addition of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), more than 20 federal agencies are considered to be ITDS PGAs.

CBP states that the ITDS initiative is the instrument through which federal government agencies participate in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) and that by 2004, more than 20 PGAs had begun work with CBP to identify and coordinate requirements for ACE/ITDS. CBP states that PGAs will continue requirements and development work with CBP throughout 2005.

In addition, CBP notes that outreach activities will be conducted to reach additional agencies. (CBP has previously stated that in addition to the 25 agencies listed below, an additional 54 agencies are targeted for PGA status in ITDS.)
