Senate Finance Committee Announces Hearing on CAFTA-DR On April 6, 2005
The Senate Finance Committee has issued a press release announcing that it plans to hold a full committee hearing on the U.S.-Dominican Republic-Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) on April 6, 2005.

According to the press release, the Senate Finance Committee's hearing announcement followed action by Guatemala to become the third country, along with El Salvador and Honduras, to pass legislation implementing the CAFTA-DR.
House Ways and Means Has Not Yet Announced its CAFTA-DR Hearing
The House Ways and Means Committee has not yet announced a date for its own hearing on CAFTA-DR. One source opined that as soon as Guatemala enacts an anticipated data protection law, a hearing will be scheduled, probably some time after the spring recess.
USTR Posts CAFTA-DR Briefing Book to its Web Site
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has recently posted to its Web site the CAFTA-DR Briefing book. The briefing book includes (partial list): a section-by-section summary of CAFTA-DR, the full text of the CAFTA-DR (in both English and Spanish), details on the textile and agricultural provisions of the CAFTA-DR, etc.
