List for Each Port Provides Broker Addresses, Telephone Numbers, & Filer Codes

The broker's list for each individual port of entry provides each broker's name, address, and telephone number as well as each broker's filer code.

CBP Updates Broker Lists Periodically

CBP sources state that these broker lists are updated periodically (i.e., once per quarter or less frequently).

Broker List for Each Port is Available on CBP's Web Site, Etc.

The broker list for each individual U.S. port of entry is available at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/ports/. (Click on applicable state, then on applicable port, then on "Brokers: View List.")

Alternatively, the broker list for each individual port of entry may be accessed by modifying the general URL (i.e., http://apps.cbp.gov/brokers/index.asp?portCode=).

For example, the broker list for Birmingham, AL (port code 1904) is available at http://apps.cbp.gov/brokers/index.asp?portCode=1904. To look up brokers for another port, the '1904' should be deleted and the port code of the other port should be inserted at the end of the URL.

(See ITT's 03/19/98 news, (Ref:98031875), for BP summary of CBP's final rule which amended 19 CFR Part 142 to provide for the availability by electronic means of the code assigned by CBP to identify frequent entry filers.)
