U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued an ABI administrative message announcing two outreach sessions for the trade on the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Electronic Truck Manifest System currently being tested in Blaine, WA. The sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in White Rock, British Columbia and Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Bellingham, WA.

1. CBP Announces 2 Outreach Sessions for ACE Electronic Truck Manifest System
The primary purpose of these two sessions is to bring together both the customs brokerage and carrier communities to ensure that everyone has a common understanding of the processes used when a carrier has filed an electronic manifest prior to arrival, and the requirements placed on both parties. Additional items to be covered in these sessions include information on becoming an ACE participant and the Trade Act of 2002.

2. CBP Grants Snow Day for Port of Baltimore on February 28, 2005
CBP has issued an ABI administrative message announcing that, due to inclement weather, the port of Baltimore was closed for business on Monday, February 28, 2005. CBP states that a snow day will be granted to all filers filing entries in the port of Baltimore for this date. CBP is extending for one additional day without penalties for the filing and payment of entry summaries due that day.
