The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has issued a request for comments on behalf of the Trade Policy Staff Committee (TPSC) with regard to the interim environmental review of the proposed U.S.-Andean Free Trade Agreement (FTA). The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued an order announcing that for a period of five years certain export privileges of Chemical Industries Consolidated b.v. (Netherlands) will be denied as a result of export violations stemming from its solicitation of exports of gas processor parts to Iran. 3. ITA & Interior Allocate 2005 Duty Exemptions for V.I. Watch Producers
The International Trade Administration (ITA) and the Interior Department (Interior) have issued a notice allocating calendar year 2005 duty exemptions for watch producers located in the Virgin Islands. According to the notice, the total quantity for duty-free insular watches and watch movements for 2005 is 1,866,000 units for the Virgin Islands, with 1,050,000 of these units allocated between four firms and the balance of units available for new entrants into the program or producers who request a supplement to their allocation. 4. BIS Denies Export Privileges of Kiarash Arastafarfor 15 Years
The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued an order denying the export privileges of Kiarash Arastafar for a period of 15 years in connection with charges that Arastafar exported gas processor parts to Iran through the Netherlands without authorization from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
