ACE launched at port of Blaine on December 12, 2004. According to CBP, the first truck to be processed through the newly installed ACE Secure Data Portal arrived at the Port of Blaine on December 12, 2004. CBP states that 6,279 trucks were processed via the ACE Secure Data Portal in the first week (December 12-19, 2004). The portal provides a single, integrated, on-line access point to CBP data.
ACE Secure Data Portal was upgraded system-wide to include new capabilities. Earlier in December 2004, the portal was upgraded system-wide to include new account management and account revenue capabilities for current ACE account holders. These latest ACE features provide electronic tracking for noncompliance issues and increased communication between primary, secondary, and other CBP port personnel. The reports and significant activity log (SAL) functions were also enhanced.
CBP notes that the new tracer feature in ACE displays trip issues, actions, and findings from the beginning to the end of the trade process, which allows CBP officers and other CBP port personnel to research, track, and manage instances of potential or actual noncompliance related to a specific account, transaction, entry, or line item.
Up to 7 ports schedules to receive ACE over next few months. According to CBP, up to seven ports are projected to receive ACE over the next few months, including the ports of Buffalo and Champlain, NY; Detroit and Port Huron, MI; Laredo, TX; and Otay Mesa, CA.
More than 350 importer, broker, and carrier ACE accounts. According to CBP, currently there are nearly 350 importer, broker, and carrier ACE accounts. CBP notes that more than 3,000 people have access to ACE, including approximately 1,735 trade community users.
