CBP Posts Updated EDI Message Drafts For ACE Release 4 - Truck Manifest

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has posted to its Web site new or modified Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages for Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Release 4 - Truck Manifest.

CBP has previously stated that these types of EDI messages are being released as an initial advisory to the trade of the anticipated messages to be used in future releases of ACE. CBP notes that these messages may change or be modified over time.

CBP's new or modified EDI messages for ACE Release 4 - Truck Manifest are as follows:

Truck Manifest 353 Message (Customs Events Advisory Details) - 11/05/04

Truck Manifest 358 Message (Customs Trip Information) - 10/29/04

Truck Manifest 4060 Message (Interchange Segments) - 11/02/04

Changes in ANSI X.12 Truck Manifest Data Sets

CBP has also posted a record of changes in ANSI X.12 Truck Manifest Data Sets since November 1, 2004.

CBP has previously announced that the pilot test of ACE Truck Manifest capability is set to begin in Blaine, WA in December 2004 and will expand to six additional ports during the January 2005 through mid-April 2005 period. In addition, subscribers should note that ACE Truck Manifest is separate from the mandatory advance electronic information requirements for inbound truck cargo that are being implemented in three stages (depending on the port) beginning November 15, 2004.
