AD: Indonesia bottle-Grade Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Resin
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice stating that at the request of P.T. Indorama Synthetics Tbk (Indorama), a mandatory respondent, it is postponing until no later than 135 days after October 28, 2004 (from January 3, 2005) the final antidumping (AD) duty determination on bottle-grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin from Indonesia.

The ITA states that in accordance with 19 CFR 351.210(b), because the preliminary determination in this AD duty investigation was affirmative, the respondent accounts for a significant proportion of exports of the subject merchandise, and no compelling reasons for denial exist, it is granting the respondent's request to postpone the final AD duty determination.
The ITA adds that it is also extending provisional measures (suspension of liquidation and preliminary AD bond/cash deposit requirements) to not more than six months.
ITA sources state that the new due date is March 14, 2004. ITA sources also confirm that in the preliminary determination, ITA had announced this same postponement for Indonesia, as well as India and Thailand.
(See ITT's Online Archives or 10/29/04 news, 04102920, for BP summary of the preliminary affirmative AD duty determinations for subject merchandise from India, Indonesia, and Thailand.)
