The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has issued a press release announcing that Chyron Corporation of Melville, NY has agreed to pay a $15,300 civil penalty to settle charges that it knowingly exported an animation system to the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO's) Space Applications Center in India without an export license, in violation of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). BIS has issued a press release announcing that New Brunswick Scientific Co., Inc. of Edison, NJ has agreed to pay a $51,000 civil penalty to settle charges that it exported various types of laboratory equipment and other items to India, Taiwan, and Israel without the required export licenses, in violation of the EAR. 3. Presidential Determination and Certification Concerning Libya
President Bush has issued a Memorandum for the Secretary of State which notes his determination that Libya received nuclear enrichment equipment, material, or technology after August 4, 1977 and his determination and certification that the continued termination of assistance, as required by section 101 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), would have a serious adverse effect on vital U.S. interests and that he has received reliable assurances that Libya will not acquire or develop nuclear weapons or assist other nations in doing so.
