CBP to Hold its 5 th Annual Trade Symposium on December 9-10, 2004

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a press release announcing that it will host its 5th annual trade symposium on December 9-10, 2004 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC.

According to CBP, this year's theme is "Security and Facilitation of Trade: The Way Forward." CBP states that the event will include discussions between senior CBP managers and representatives of the international trade and transportation community. Panels for the symposium will include a Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Border and Transportation Security (BTS) Executive roundtable, Trade Act of 2002 implementation, Bioterrorism Act of 2002, the Container Security Initiative (CSI), and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

The trade symposium will open with a pre-registration reception on the evening of December 8, 2004, followed by a day and a half of events beginning December 9, 2004.

CBP states that information on trade symposium registration, agenda, and other details will be announced on CBP's Web site in October, and that registration for the symposium will have to be made online at www.cbp.gov.
