Withdrawal of Proposed Revocations of Two Classification Rulings
Certain Soapstone Fireplaces and Cookstoves. CBP states that the merchandise at issue was described alternately as unassembled wood burning fireplaces or cookstoves comprised of soapstone.
CBP had proposed to issue HQ 967010 and HQ 967009 in order to revoke HQ 960163 and HQ 959493, respectively, and reclassify the fireplaces and cookstoves under HTS 7116.20.4000 as "other articles of semiprecious stones (except rock crystal)" rather than under HTS 6802.99.00 which provides for "other worked monumental or building stone, etc."
However, CBP states that based upon a comment received and further review of the matter, CBP now believes that the fireplaces and cookstoves should remain classified as they were under HQ 960163 and HQ 959493.
Therefore, CBP states that it is withdrawing the proposed revocation of HQ 960163 and HQ 959493.
