CAPPS and iTRAC Program to be Used for ACE Development

According to the newsletter, the Office of Strategic Trade (OST) is working with the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to provide insight into how to collect and integrate comprehensive data for risk management analysis.

CBP states that two tools that OST developed are being used for ACE development - the Customs Automated Ports Profile System (CAPPS) and the Importer Trade Activity (iTRAC) program.

(CAPPS provides information that allows CBP officers to assess the effectiveness of their cargo exam targets, while also identifying areas of risk. The iTRAC program provides an importer with more than 800 Automated Commercial System (ACS) data elements on trade activity.)

Pilot of Account Revenue Features and Portal Improvements in June 2004

CBP's June 2004 newsletter also discusses the pilot test of ACE Periodic Payment features and other account revenue capabilities that was launched on June 14, 2004. According to CBP, the features being tested include monthly account statement and payment capabilities, as well as ledger integration, notifications, alerts, and other enhancements.

CBP also discusses improvements to the ACE Secure Data Portal that were scheduled for mid-June 2004. According to CBP, the portal will have a new look, offering more reports and operating smoother, faster, and more intuitively.
