FDA Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI) Goes Down and Then Comes Back Up

On June 15, 2004, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued an initial ABI administrative message stating that it had received word from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that FDA was experiencing intermittent Internet problems that were affecting its Prior Notice System Interface (PNSI), and had moved to its contingency plans.

In that message, CBP stated that if an individual cannot gain access to the FDA's PNSI system, s/he may file a non-automated prior notice (PN) either through email via the FDA web site, or by fax at (703) 391-1984.

In addition, CBP had stated that the phone number of the Prior Notice Center is (866) 521-2297.

FDA's PNSI Was Back Up and Running at 2:30 P.M.

Later during the day on June 15, 2004, CBP issued a second ABI administrative message stating that the FDA had informed CBP that PNSI was back up and running effective as of 2:30 p.m. eastern time.
