USTR's Trade Advisory Committee Reports, Etc. on Proposed U.S.-Dominican Republic Agreement on CAFTA Now Available

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has posted to its Web site the reports of 32 Trade Advisory Committees on the proposed U.S.-Dominican Republic agreement which integrates the Dominican Republic into the Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA).

(On March 15, 2004, the U.S. and the Dominican Republic concluded the negotiations integrating the Dominican Republic into CAFTA. At that time, the USTR noted that the Dominican Republic would assume the same set of obligations and commitments as Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. In addition, on March 24, 2004, President Bush notified Congress of his intent to sign CAFTA with the Dominican Republic. (See ITT's Online Archives or 03/31/04 news, 04033105, for BP summary of this notification.))
