Textile and Apparel Import Statistics for the 12-Month Period Ending February 2004
The Commerce Department's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) has issued its February 2004 Textiles and Apparel Import Report, which includes statistics on general imports (both quota and non-quota) of cotton, wool, man-made fiber, silk blend, and non-cotton vegetable fiber textiles and apparel.

Compared with the 12 months ending February 2003 (March 2002 through February 2003), for the 12 months ending February 2004 (March 2003 through February 2004):
Textiles & Apparel - apparel imports increased 5.7%, textile imports increased 10.6%, total textile and apparel imports increased 8.4%, and textile and apparel imports from specific countries or regions changed as follows:

Yarns, Fabrics, and Made-Up Miscellaneous Articles - yarn imports decreased 2.9%, fabric imports increased 0.9%, and imports of made-up and miscellaneous articles increased 23.8%.
(OTEXA's Textiles and Apparel Import Report provides comparisons of import data for 12-month periods ending in February 2003 and 2004, year-to-date import data (i.e. February 2003 versus February 2004), etc. OTEXA's February 2004 Textile and Apparel Trade Balance Report only provides comparisons of year-to-date import data, but also includes year-to-date export and trade balance data.)
