USTR Issues 2004 Inventory of Foreign Trade Barriers
The Office of U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has released its 2004 annual report documenting foreign trade barriers to U.S. exports and U.S. efforts to reduce and eliminate those barriers.

The report covers 58 major trading partners and profiles policies restricting market access. Included in the report is a list of barriers and unfair trade practices to American exports of goods, services, and farm products.
The USTR also states that this year's report highlights the global effort to reduce or eliminate those barriers, and notes in particular the effect of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations the U.S. held or plans to hold, and well as top areas of concern related to intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures.
