2. HHS & FDA Announce Crackdown on Products Containing "Andro"
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have issued a press release announcing a crackdown on companies that manufacture, market, and distribute products containing androstenedione ("andro"), which acts like a steroid once metabolized by the body. The FDA has warned manufacturers to stop distributing such products. HHS and FDA's press release contains links to additional "andro" resources. 3. Federal Register Publication of Proclamation 7748 on List of GSP Countries
Presidential Proclamation 7758 of March 1, 2004, which deleted ten countries from, and added one country to, the list of Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) beneficiary developing countries, was published in the March 4, 2004 Federal Register. 4. Homeland Security Advisory Council to Hold Partially Open Meeting
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a notice announcing that the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) will hold a partially open meeting on March 31, 2004 in Washington, DC in order to, among other things, receive briefings on the DHS Strategic Plan and DHS Strategic Goals for 2004 (tentative) and receive reports from Senior Advisory Committees and subgroups.
