The Journal of Commerce reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Robert Bonner has said that within 60 days CBP will resolve with industry differences over the definition of "shipper" on international cargo manifests. 2. U.S., Canada & Mexico Sign Cooperation Charter on Food Safety, Drugs, Etc.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a press release announcing that the U.S., Canada, and Mexico have signed a Trilateral Cooperation Charter with the purpose of increasing communication, collaboration, and the exchange of information among the three countries in the areas of drugs, biologics, medical devices, food safety, and nutrition. 3. DHS Fact Sheet on Standards for Radiation & Nuclear Detection Equipment

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a Fact Sheet which outlines the adopted standards for radiation and nuclear detection equipment. 4. Presidential Determination to Not Provide Import Relief for Certain Ductile Iron Waterworks Fittings from China Published in the Federal Register

The Federal Register has published the President's March 3, 2004 memorandum in which it was decided that providing import relief to the U.S. pipe fittings industry from certain ductile iron waterworks fittings from China was not in the national economic interest.
