CITA No Longer Denying Entry to Textiles and Apparel Allegedly Manufactured by Daewoo El Salvador
The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) has issued a notice which cancels a directive published on December 22, 2003 that directed U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to deny entry, for two years, to textiles and apparel allegedly manufactured in El Salvador by Daewoo El Salvador, S.A. de C.V. (Daewoo El Salvador).

(CITA states that it had earlier been informed by CBP that this company was found to have been illegally transshipping, closed or unable to produce records to verify production. As such, entry was to be denied for goods exported on and after December 22, 2003 through December 21, 2005.)
Effective February 24, 2004, Entry No Longer Denied
CITA now states that based upon information received since that time, it has decided to cancel that directive. Therefore, effective February 24, 2004, CITA states that CBP should not apply that directive to shipments of textiles and apparel allegedly manufactured in El Salvador by Daewoo El Salvador.
CITA adds that it expects CBP will conduct additional onsite verifications of this company's production when possible.
