Vietnamese Government Releases Names of Closed or Denied Factories, and Factories With High Transshipment Capability
The Vietnamese Ministry of Trade (MOT) has issued an announcement which names those Vietnamese textile and garment factories determined by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to be closed or denied access to verification officials, as well as those factories with a "high transshipment capability."

From August 4-22, 2003, CBP officials conducted Textile Production Verification Team Visits to 98 enterprises in Vietnam. MOT states that of those factories, 6 were permanently closed or rejected access to CBP's team and another 17 were given the status of "high transshipment capability."
Six Factories Determined to be Closed or Denied Access Will be Given No Quotas
According to MOT, the following enterprises were determined to be closed or rejected access to CBP's officials. As such these factories will be given no quotas:

17 Factories Have Been Determined to Have "High Transshipment Capability"
MOT states that the following 17 factories have a "high transshipment capability" and notes that export import management bodies will intensify revisions of these enterprises' export records to the U.S. market in order to prevent the possibility of transshipment.
