CBP Issues 61st Update to its Lists of Foreign Companies Convicted, Penalized and/or Denied Entry for Illegal Textile Transshipment, Etc

On February 9, 2004, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted a notice to its Web site containing its 61st update to its lists of names and addresses of certain foreign companies convicted, penalized, and/or excluded from entry because of the illegal transshipment of textile products, etc.

Changes to Hong Kong's "Convicted List"

6 Factories Added to Hong Kong Illegal Transshipment "Convicted List" - 6 factories have been added to the list of Hong Kong companies that have been convicted for false claims of Hong Kong as the country of origin for textile products shipped to the U.S., and from which shipment of textile products will be detained by CBP until production records are presented to confirm production. The factories which have been added to this list are:

21 Factories Removed from Hong Kong Illegal Transshipment "Convicted List" - the following 21 factories have been removed from the list as follows:

E Knit Factory Limited
Flourishing Garment Factory
Gallery Garments Factory Limited
Good Year
Hing Yip Knitters AKA Wayloy Investment Limited

New El Salvador Denied Entry List

El Salvador Denied Entry List-CBP states that as of December 22, 2003, entry is to be denied for all textiles and textile products manufactured by the following company in accordance with TBT-03-037. CBP states that production records will not be accepted for:

Daewoo El Salvador, S.A. de C.V.

4 Taiwan Companies Removed from Taiwan Denied Entry List- CBP states that the following factories have been removed from the list of Taiwan companies that were denied entry because they were unable to provide production records or were determined to be closed:

Hong Win Trading CompanySpring Information Industry Company

No Changes to Other Lists

CBP's 61st update does not include any changes to:

Botswana Denied Entry List - one company located in Botswana whose textiles and textile products are to be denied entry as of September 2, 2003. CBP also notes that production records will not be accepted from this company.

Cambodia Denied Entry List.- the list of 3 Cambodian companies whose textiles and textile products are to be denied entry as of May 30, 2002. CBP also notes that production records will not be accepted from these companies.

Macau Illegal Transshipment "Assessed Penalties List" - the list of 24 Macau companies that have been assessed penalties for false claims of Macau origin for textile products not produced in Macau and shipped to the U.S. Customs states that it will detain shipments from this list of manufacturers until production records are presented to confirm production;

Macau's Denied Entry List. - the list of three companies that were to have been denied entry as of September 3, 2002 because they could not provide production records or were determined to be closed. CBP states that production records will not be accepted from these companies
