DHS Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of CBP (COAC) to Meet on February 6, 2004

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued a notice announcing that the next meeting of the Departmental Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (COAC) will be held on February 6, 2004 in Washington, DC. (This committee was previously called the "Treasury Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of the U.S. Customs Service.")

According to DHS, at the February 6, 2004 meeting, COAC is expected to pursue the following agenda (subject to change):

Customs and Border Patrol Officer

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Bioterrorism Act

Advance Cargo Manifest Information

Free and Secure Trade (FAST)

Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and Container Security Initiative (CSI) Human Capital Plan

Focused Assessment/Importer Self-Assessment Program

World Customs Organization (WCO) Task Force on Global Security Standards

Customs Brokers Examination

Automated Commercial System (ACS) Maintenance

DHS states that all persons entering the building where this meeting will be held must be cleared by building security in advance of the meeting. DHS states that personal data to obtain this clearance must be submitted to Vetta Jeffries, (202) 282-8468, no later than 2 p.m. EST on February 5, 2004.
