CV: Canada Hard Red Spring Wheat
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice which initiates an expedited review of the countervailing (CV) duty order on hard red spring wheat from Canada for Richelain Farms (Richelain).

The ITA states that Richelain has certified that it exported the subject merchandise to the U.S. during the period of investigation; that it is not affiliated with an exporter or producer that the ITA individually examined in the investigation; and that it informed the Government of Canada, as the government of the exporting country, that the government will be required to provided a full response to the ITA's questionnaire.
The ITA intends to issue the preliminary results of this expedited review not later than 180 days from the date of initiation of this review. The ITA also notes that the period of review for this expedited review will be based on the same period of time as the investigation (August 1, 2001 through July 31, 2002).
Expedited Review Intended to Provide Individual Cash Deposit Rate or Exclusion
According to the ITA, this expedited review is intended to provide an individual cash deposit rate or exclusion for Richelain. ITA sources note that the assessment of CV duties will not be based on this expedited review, but rather will be determined by the normal administrative review process.
