U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a general notice seeking volunteers for the Broker Self-Assessment Outreach Pilot (BSA pilot program, also referred to as the Broker Compliance Management program).

CBP has issued a CSMS message announcing that on April 28, 2009, CBP will be hosting an ACE Seminar in El Paso, TX. Topics include: Current Status of ACE, Future Releases including Sea, Rail, Air Manifest and Entry Summary and Accounts Revenue and an ACE reports demonstration. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted an updated notice on the Import Safety Priority Trade Issue (PTI). CBP first designated Import Safety as a PTI in 2008 and CBP sources have confirmed that it continues to be a PTI in 2009.
On May 12, 2009, CBP will be hosting an ACE Seminar in Chicago, IL to educate the international trade community on the benefits of ACE and its impact to their business operations. CBP speakers will discuss Periodic Monthly Statement, manifest and entry filing. Representatives from the ACE Account Service Desk will provide a demonstration on how to use ACE reports and will provide tips for creating customized reports. The afternoon session will focus on using the ACE reports tool. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Waxman (D) and Energy and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Markey (D) have issued a notice announcing that they will be holding four days of hearings on the discussion draft of "The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009" (ACES). The hearings will examine the views of the Administration and a broad range of stakeholders on the discussion draft.
