On November 1, 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Bersin met with members of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's national security task force to provide an update on CBP's efforts to modernize, streamline and strengthen its operations at ports of entry. Bersin also provided an update on the Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) pilot, which he states CBP plans to expand to more international sites in the near future.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted two memoranda dated January 11, 2011 announcing the results of the tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) for milk and cream, condensed or evaporated, and for dairy products, which opened on January 3, 2011. CBP sources state that these memoranda went out to the field and trade in January 2011 but were never posted online.
On October 12, 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection held a webinar on the ACE Courtesy Notice of Liquidation Report, AM-100. While much of this information has been provided in previous CBP notices, the webinar provided new details on the availability of the AM-100 for ACE and ACS-filed entry summaries. New details were also provided on the availability of the bill of lading number for the AM-100 and other account management reports.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a summary of changes for the Automated Export System Trade Interface Requirements (AESTIR). On October 25, 2011, CBP added Special Comprehensive License (SCL) S000037 for License Code C31 to Appendix F on License and License Exemption Type Codes (available here). On September 23, 2011, CBP added 4503 St Louis, MO (Valid for AIR) to Appendix D on Export Port Codes.
On October 27, 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Bersin hosted a series of roundtable discussions with leaders of trade associations on their issues and concerns. The President of the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO), a domestic textile industry association, presented the NCTO's concerns with illegal textile and apparel transshipments involving falsified certificates of origin. CBP also discussed its initiatives ACE, simplified entry pilot, and the Centers for Excellence and Expertise with other roundtable participants.
