CBP has posted an updated version of its CF 1400 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Entrances) - an electronic query report for CF 1400 of the Vessel Management System (VMS), in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by entrances. CBP has also posted an updated CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) - an electronic query report for CF 1401 of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Sandusky Bay Station in Port Clinton, Ohio on June 8, 2011. The new facility will be home to approximately 95 federal agents and officers from the U.S. Border Patrol, Office of Field Operations, and Office of Air and Marine - the first CBP building in the nation to house all three CBP operational components in one location.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is announcing an additional 30 day comment period for the proposed extension of its existing Automated Clearinghouse (CBP Form 400) information collection, which it plans to submit to the Office of Management and Budget for review and approval.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a reminder to carriers regarding annual Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) renewals. All carriers must maintain a valid SCAC to avoid disruptions and/or having the SCAC reassigned to another company.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted a notice to its website regarding its 2001 announcement that it would no longer be providing importers with free reports of entry summaries that have been flagged for reconciliation and would instead provide such reports on a fee-for-service basis only. CBP’s notice contains similar information as its 2001 ABI administrative message announcing this change (the 2001 message had additional details on report codes, etc.). CBP sources have confirmed that this notice does not contain any new information.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection import specialists and officers assigned to the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport discovered and seized 47,184 pieces of clothing in violation of Chanel, Polo, Gucci, Coogi and Dior trademarks in three shipments arriving from China over the past three months.
