CBP has also posted an updated CF 1401 (Record of Vessel in Foreign Trade Clearances) - an electronic query report for CF 1401 of the VMS, in accordance with 19 CFR 4.95, organized by clearances.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has posted an updated list of non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC) participants in the sea Automated Manifest System (AMS).
CBP has posted an updated version of its TRQ/TPL "threshold to fill" list, a quick reference to monitor TRQs and TPLs that are approaching their restraint limit or have filled their in-quota (low) rate. The list is divided into two sections: those that are at least 85% filled and those that are filled.

On September 9, 2011, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa cargo facility discovered about 2,330 pounds of marijuana in a shipment of hot sauce. A Mexican citizen driving a 1991 Freightliner tractor pulling a trailer with cargo manifested as hot sauce entered the cargo port. Officers discovered 123 wrapped packages of marijuana with a street value of $1.4 million. CBP seized the marijuana, tractor, and trailer.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement recently met with industry representatives and local law enforcement agencies in Florida to discuss the emerging threat of intellectual property theft and its connection to criminal enterprises. During the event, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents and other government representatives cited case examples that linked IP theft with other criminal activities such as money laundering and the smuggling of goods into the U.S. Also during the event, brand protection investigators also shared information on threat detection and investigative techniques, training sessions were held on the IPR Center, etc.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking comments by November 14, 2011 on its extension of an existing information collection concerning Crew's Effects Declaration (CBP Form 1304). CBP is proposing to extend the expiration of this information collection with no change to the burden hours or to the information being collected.
