CBP has posted to its Web site all of the individual chapters of the Customs Automated Manifest Interface Requirements (CAMIR) -- Intermodal (dated August 2011). (CBP has previously posted all of the CAMIR-Intermodal appendices (dated August 2011). The CAMIR-Intermodal document provides specific procedures for the importing trade community that is interested in participating in the Automated Manifest System (AMS).
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has updated its list of NEXUS Enrollment Centers and crossing locations. CBP has noted that eye scan is not available in the U.S. The list also contains the address, hours of operation, and contact information for each NEXUS enrollment center or crossing location.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection's Area Port of Boston has issued a public information notice announcing that the first Trade Day will be held on October 13, 2011. This event will provide an opportunity for members of the trade community to meet with CBP officials who are responsible for facilitating the importation of their goods. There is no cost to attend this event, but online registration will be required, and is available here. Notice is available via email by sending a request to documents@brokerpower.com.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a CSMS message announcing that the Food and Drug Administration has issued a follow up letter to industry regarding its attempts to facilitate the import entry review process for medical and non-medical radiation emitting electronic products.
CBP has posted to its Web site a copy of a letter sent to AMS participants announcing the availability of the August 2011 Customs Automated Manifest Interface Requirements (CAMIR) -- Intermodal. According to CBP, the June 2011 version replaces the full CAMIR publication issued in October 2005. CBP states that the new version includes all changes that have occurred in AMS since the 2005 version. (Note that the letter appears to incorrectly refer to the new CAMIR as a June 2011 edition.) On September 7, 2011, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) officially opened a renovated ICE Academy complex at the Glynco, Georgia site, which is dedicated to training and preparing special agents and officers to enforce immigration and customs laws. This was a $2.5 million renovation project between the ICE Academy and FLETC to provide a central classroom location for all ICE Academy basic and specialized training programs. The site gives ICE recruits specialized training needed to work as part of the principal investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued an updated version of its fact sheet on ACE Entry Summary, Accounts, and Revenue (ESAR) at-a-glance, which includes minor changes.
