On June 21, 2010, Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee Chairman Lincoln, (D), Ranking Member Chambliss, (R), and 23 other Senators sent a letter to the President urging him to address Russian trade barriers on U.S. poultry imports during his upcoming meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The Senators emphasized that internationally recognized science methodology has proven U.S. poultry to be safe and that current restrictions are unwarranted.

According to the press release, Pistole testified on his priorities for TSA, the ongoing risks facing all forms of transportation, etc.
On June 17, 2010, the following trade-related bill was introduced:
On June 23, 2010, the Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing to examine America’s trade relationship with China. This hearing, entitled “The U.S.-China Trade Relationship: Finding a New Path Forward,” is the second in a series the Finance Committee is holding to examine the U.S.-China economic relationship. Witnesses at the June 23, 2010 hearing will be Secretary of Commerce Locke and U.S. Trade Representative Kirk.

On June 17, 2010, the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee ordered favorably reported the nomination of John S. Pistole to be Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration and an Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security. On June 17, 2010, the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee concluded a hearing on Pistole’s nomination.
