The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published on July 16 notifications of three partially closed meetings to be held at the Herbert C. Hoover Building, Washington D.C. in the coming weeks. The Information Systems Technical Advisory Committee (ISTAC) will (here) meet on July 31 and August 1 at 9:00 a.m., respectively. The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) on July 9 requested comment on information collections related to Special Comprehensive License (SCL) applications. The license authorizes multiple shipments from the U.S. or from international consignees that conduct BIS-approved activities in the following areas: servicing, support services, stocking spare parts, maintenance, capital expansion, manufacturing, support scientific data acquisition, reselling and re-exporting.
The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) is adding two Chinese companies to the list of Validated End-Users (VEU), in a final rule set for publication in the July 10 Federal Register. Samsung China Semiconductor Co. Ltd. (Samsung China) and Advanced Micro-Fabrication Equipment, Inc., China (AMEC) will join other Chinese VEUs listed in the Export Administration Regulations.
