The Bureau of Industry Security is asking for comments by Nov. 30 on existing information collections regarding the submission of declarations, reports and inspections to comply with the Chemical Weapons Convention. BIS estimated the forms take 816 respondents between 10 minutes and 12 hours to complete, for a total annual burden of 16,407 hours and a total annual cost of $41,470.
The Agricultural Marketing Service released the Ocean Shipping Container Availability Report (OSCAR) for the week of Sept. 26 - Oct. 2. The weekly report contains data on container availability for westbound transpacific traffic at 18 intermodal locations in the U.S.1 from the nine member carriers of the Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (WTSA)2. Although the report is compiled by AMS, it covers container availability for all merchandise, not just agricultural products.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking public comment on the construction and operation of facilities proposed by LNG Development Company, LLC and Oregon Pipeline Company to build an LNG export facility in Oregon. Oregon LNG plans to amend its pending application in Docket Nos. CP09-6-000 and CP09-7-000 (Oregon LNG Terminal and Pipeline Project) into a bidirectional liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and pipeline after completion of the FERC's pre-filing review process for the Export Project, FERC said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for Sept. 29. Hearings are set for 6 p.m. Oct. 15, Warrenton Community Center, Warrenton, OR, and 6 p.m. Oct. 16, Woodland High School/Middle School Commons, Woodland, WA. Comments can also be submitted by Nov. 8 via www.ferc.gov, on Docket Nos. PF12-18-000 and PF12-20-000.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking public input for an environmental assessment of the Cove Point Liquefaction Project for exporting liquefied natural gas, to be built and operated by Dominion Cove Point LNG, LP (Dominion) in Maryland and Virginia, it said in a Federal Register notice scheduled for Sept. 28. The Project would be capable of processing an average of 750 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day for a nominal LNG train capacity of about 4.5 to 5 million tons per annum. Dominion plans to begin construction at the Cove Point LNG Terminal in March 2014. Comments may be submitted in written form or verbally. Hearings are set for 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at Patuxent High School, Lusby, MD, and 7 p.m. Oct. 10, at Creighton's Corner Elementary School, Ashburn, VA. Comments also can be filed on the Commission's website, www.ferc.gov, under the link to Documents and Filings. Reference the Project docket number (PF12-16-000).
The Census Bureau scheduled the seventh webinar in its eight-part series on “The Fundamentals of Exporting” for Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. The webinar, “Getting it Right the First Time - How to Avoid Common Penalties,” will cover what the penalties are for reporting incorrect information in the Automated Export System and best practices to avoid penalties in the future. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission plans public hearings Oct. 9-11 to take comments on Jordan Cove Energy Project LP's proposed liquefaction and export project in Coos County, Ore., it said. The Bureau of Industry and Security announced an Oct. 11 open meeting of the Emerging Technology and Research Advisory Committee (ETRAC). At the meeting, the ETRAC will hear an update on BIS' plans for fiscal year 2013, hear a presentation on the Wassenaar Arrangement "use" redefinition, discuss deemed export language to address the redefinition of "use", and hear public comments, among other things. The open session will be accessible via teleconference to 20 participants on a first come, first served basis. The Association of Small Business Development Centers (ASBDC) will host an Automated Export System Compliance Seminar and an AESPcLink Workshop in Denver Oct. 3-4, the Census Bureau said. At the seminar on Oct. 3, Census experts will cover the filing requirements of the Foreign Trade Regulations, Schedule B classification requirements, and provide an overview of AES.
