CBP chose Diane Sabatino as the new director of field operations for the Miami and Tampa Field Offices, said CBP in a news release (here). Sabatino was previously the port director at the Miami Seaport.

Bradd Skinner will be the new assistant director-field operations for trade at CBP Laredo, said CBP in an Aug. 20 press release (here). Skinner replaces Nancy Becker, who retired from the position in January (see 1501050010). Skinner formerly led CBP’s Customs-Trade Against Partnership (C-TPAT) program for five years, among other roles at the agency.

In the Aug. 19 issue of the CBP Customs Bulletin (Vol. 49, No. 33) (here), CBP published notices that propose to revoke or modify rulings and similar treatment for the tariff classification of lithium batteries and polyester pants.
CBP said its Harmonized System Update (HSU) 1505 was created Aug. 18, containing 2,229 ABI records and 304 harmonized tariff records. The update includes the addition of Partner Government Agency indicators for future Lacey Act submissions, said CBP (here). It also includes changes due to the Trade Preferences Extension Act of 2015 (see 1506290045). Adjustments required for the verification of the 2015 Harmonized Tariff Schedule are also included, CBP said in a CSMS message.
