In the Oct. 28 issue of the CBP Customs Bulletin (Vol. 49, No. 43) (here), CBP published notices that propose to revoke or modify rulings and similar treatment for play tables for babies and women's suits.
CBP recently seized 1,200 counterfeit Tiffany bracelets at Miami International Airport, it said in an Oct. 27 press release (here). If genuine, the bracelets would have had a suggested retail price of about $2.9 million, said the agency. CBP officers suspected the bracelets, which were shipped from China, to be counterfeit because they appeared to be of low quality. CBP import specialists then examined samples and determined them to be counterfeit, said CBP.

CBP will release a new version of the Automated Commercial Environment Reports user interface on Oct. 31, the agency said in a CSMS message (here). "CBP will update ACE Reports to include a new home page, a more intuitive navigational structure, and a revised training resources page," it said. The update will be the first in a series of enhancements to ACE Reports, "with a full cutover to the new ACE Reports structure scheduled for completion" by Dec. 7, it said.
CBP published the quarterly Internal Revenue Service interest rates used to calculate interest on overdue accounts (underpayments) and refunds (overpayments) of customs duties (here). For the quarter which began Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 31, the interest rates for overpayments will be 2 percent for corporations and 3 percent for non-corporations, and the rate of underpayments will be 3 percent for corporations and non-corporations. These interest rates are subject to change for the calendar quarter beginning Jan. 1 and ending March 31, said CBP.
