Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., tariffs +Canada).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FDA -alert).

Simplest form: Use the simplest form of a term (e.g. "metal" instead of "metals" or "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Releases Jan. 6 Customs Bulletin

CBP released its Jan. 6 Customs Bulletin (Vol. 50, No. 1) (here). While it does not contain any rulings, it does include recent CBP notices and Court of International Trade decisions.

CBP Posts CATAIR Chapter for Drawback Entry Summary

CBP posted a new chapter of the CBP and Trade Automated Interface Requirements (CATAIR) for drawback entry summary. The new CATAIR chapter (here) "is intended to provide the conventional trade interface information for the ACE-version of a Drawback Entry Summary filing," it said.

CBP Releases More COAC Documents

CBP posted more ahead of Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations of Customs and Border Protection (COAC) meeting on Jan. 13. The documents include issue papers on the Border Interagency Executive Council (here), international trade engagement (here), and Automated Commercial Environment (here). There's also executive summaries from the Trade Modernization (here) and One U.S. Government at the Border (here) COAC subcommittees. The agency posted other materials for the meeting earlier this week (see 1601070026 and 1601060028).
