Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CBP Targets $100 Million Worth of Shipments for Suspected Forced Labor in May

CBP in May identified 450 shipments valued at more than $100 million for further examination based on the suspected use of forced labor, the agency said in its most recent operational statistics update. The shipments include goods subject to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act and withhold release orders, CBP said. The number of shipments is up from 392 shipments, but the value is down from $184 million in April (see 2405150065). Also in May, CBP seized 1,640 shipments that contained counterfeit goods valued at more than $331 million if the items had been genuine, the agency said.

May 1 Customs Broker Exam Had 13% Pass Rate, CBP Says

CBP’s May 1 customs broker license exam had a pass rate of 13%, CBP said in a document posted ahead of the June 26 meeting of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee. There were a total of 1,132 test takers, with 179 of those taking the test remotely, CBP said.
