The State Department provided the following guidance July 2 related to the June 28 U.S. District Court, D.C., guilty plea by Pratt & Whitney Canada to violations of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). The State Department is seeking public comment on possible items for inclusion in the first work program for implementing the U.S. -- Korea Environmental Cooperation Agreement (ECA), which was negotiated in parallel with the U.S. Korea Free Trade Agreement. The ECA went into effect on March 15. The ECA establishes the Environmental Cooperation Commission (ECC), which is responsible for developing programs of work that reflect the parties’ priorities for cooperative environmental activities. Comments are due July 16.
