Adams Lee, previously with White & Case in Washington, D.C., joined Harris Moure in Seattle last month. Lee has experience in antidumping and countervailing duty cases and other issues, Harris Moure partner Bill Perry said in a blog post (here).
FormerFedsGroup hired Janet Labuda, previously CBP director, Textile/Apparel Policy and Programs Division, as an international trade and customs compliance consultant, the company said in a news release (here). Labuda will "also oversee FormerFedsGroup trade compliance training programs" and "set the protocols that apply to the trade components" of the company's compliance software product.
The Committee to Support U.S. Trade Laws appointed Thomas Sneeringer, who most recently worked in the trade practice at Skadden Arps, executive director, the CSUSTL said in an emailed news release. Sneeringer will work on both the organizational and the advocacy activities for the group in the new part-time position. The CSUSTL works to maintain and improve trade remedy law enforcement on behalf its membership, which include companies, trade associations and labor unions.
Akin Gump added Joshua Teitelbaum, previously deputy assistant secretary of Commerce for Textiles, Consumer Goods and Materials with the International Trade Administration, as counsel in the firm's public law and policy practice in Washington, it said in a news release (here). Teitelbaum helped on several trade agreement discussions during his time at Commerce, the law firm said.
The National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones appointed Erik Autor president, the NAFTZ said in a news release (here). Autor most recently worked as an international business consultant and was international trade counsel at the National Retail Federation before that, the NAFTZ said.
Lawrence Sloan, CEO of the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates, will step down in October to lead the American Industrial Hygiene Association, SOCMA said in a news release (here). The trade group will immediately begin a search for a new CEO, SOCMA said.
Sandler Travis added David Craven and Saichang Xu, both previously with Riggle and Craven, the law firm said in an emailed press release. Craven, now a member at Sandler Travis, and Xu, now of counsel, will work in the firm's Chicago office.
The National Wooden Pallet and Container Association hired Mark Barford, previously executive director at the National Hardwood Lumber Association, as senior director, business relationships, the NWPCA said (here).
Sandler Travis and a new political advisory group, Champlin Washington Strategies, have formed a "strategic alliance," the law firm said in a news release (here). Champlin is run by Steve Champlin, who is "one of the foremost experts on U.S. trade policy," according to Tom Travis, managing partner at Sandler Travis. "His experience as a former key advisor to Congressional leaders, combined with his 25-year career in private practice providing guidance and insight to companies and associations on national and global government policies, make him a great resource," Travis said in a statement.
Kelley Drye promoted Grace Kim, an international trade and customs lawyer, to special counsel, the law firm said in a news release (here).
