The Senate Finance Committee on Feb. 15 unanimously advanced the nominations of Dennis Shea to be ambassador to the World Trade Organization and C.J. Mahoney to be deputy U.S. trade representative. Both candidates await confirmation votes in the full Senate.
Medtronic recently hired Ted Sherman, previously director of global trade services at Target, as senior global trade supply chain director, a Medtronic spokesman confirmed in an email.
Husch Blackwell added Beau Jackson as a partner in its international trade practice. Jackson, a Section 337 litigator before the International Trade Commission, also handles antidumping and countervailing duty cases, customs matters and other international trade issues. Before entering private practice, he was a law clerk at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and for the House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee.
Jeffrey Nadaner, a deputy assistant secretary of defense during the George W. Bush administration, has been selected by the Trump administration to be assistant secretary of commerce, in charge of export enforcement. His nomination has not yet been sent to the Senate. Nadaner, currently director of the U.S. Marine Corps University's Brute Krulak Center for Innovation & Creativity, worked for Lockheed Martin after leaving the Pentagon.
Cargo Network Services named Michael White, previously vice president at CNS, president, the company said in a news release. White is a member of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee. He succeeds Lionel van der Walt, who left CNS earlier this year to become CEO of RCI, said CNS, which is a subsidiary of the International Air Transport Association.

Alfonso Robles was named director of Field Operations for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, CBP said in a news release. Robles previously was chief counsel of CBP (see 13061701).
Miller & Chevalier recently elected Richard Mojica a member of the firm, it said in a news release. Mojica helps companies "to minimize the cost of importing merchandise into the United States through strategic customs planning and duty-savings programs," the firm said.
Husch Blackwell hired Nithya Nagarajan, previously with her own practice, and Stephen Brophy, previously with Barnes Richardson, to the firm's International Trade practice group, it said in a news release.
Guidepost Solutions added Richard Jereski, a former senior special agent in the Commerce Department Office of Export Enforcement, the consulting company said in a news release. “Rich’s background as a successful investigator, coupled with his deep expertise on trade compliance and customs issues, will further position our international investigations and compliance team as an elite practice,” Guidepost CEO Julie Myers Wood said. “Our clients will greatly benefit from his experience investigating complex regulatory matters.”
