Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "China import").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD antidumping).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., CBP +releases).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., -ruling).

Singular form: Use the singular form when doing multi-word terms (e.g. "russian export control" instead of "russian export controls").

Shortest word form: When you have different word forms in a quoted term, include the shortest version if it is the last part of the expression (e.g., "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

CPSC Considers Proposed Info Collection on Durable Nursery Product Ownership

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is scheduled to vote by August 12, 2010 on a draft Federal Register notice seeking comments on a proposed information collection regarding durable nursery products. The information collection would seek information on ownership characteristics, the life cycle of the products, and consumer behaviors and perceptions regarding such products.

Four of the five Commissioners of the Consumer Product Safety Commission have posted statements regarding their recent vote to adopt a different definition of “public accommodation facility” from the one they adopted in draft form last March for purposes of enforcing the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act.

Illinois Becomes Third State to Limit Cadmium in Children's Jewelry

Illinois has become the third state to regulate cadmium in children's jewelry. The new law prohibits the manufacture, distribution, sale or marketing of children's jewelry manufactured after July 1, 2011 with levels of cadmium in excess of 75 parts per million, unless superseded by a federal standard applicable to children's jewelry.
