Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., tariffs +Canada).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FDA -alert).

Simplest form: Use the simplest form of a term (e.g. "metal" instead of "metals" or "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

FDA’s OASIS Was Scheduled for Maintenance on Aug 27

CBP issued a CSMS message announcing that FDA’s OASIS import system would be down intermittently for maintenance on August 27, 2011 starting at approximately 03:00 am (0300), and was not anticipated to be back up until 08:30 am (0830) EDT. As a result, FDA was to operate under the Prior Notice scenario 2 contingency. See CSMS 11-000194 for instructions.

FDA Corrects FY 2012 Fee for Food Reinspections, Recall Activities

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a correction to one of the fees in its recent notice that announced the fiscal year 2012 fee rates for certain domestic and foreign food facility reinspections; recall activities performed by FDA if a firm fails to comply with a mandatory recall order; and importer reinspections; all of which are fees mandated in the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

FDA Says New "Teeth" of FSMA Include Admin Detention, Denied Entry

The Food and Drug Administration has posted an article on what it considers the "teeth" of the Food Safety Modernization Act. These include FDA's expanded administrative detention authority, records inspection, increased authority to deny entry, ability to suspend food facility registration, and mandatory recall authority.

EPA Starts Dataset Assembly for ENERGY STAR Computer Servers

On August 22, 2011, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that it is commencing dataset assembly for the ENERGY STAR Version 2.0 Computer Servers program. EPA has issued final guidance documents on the data assembly process and a timeline for relevant deadlines by which data must be received electronically. EPA notes that the test method and data entry documents have also been updated to incorporate stakeholder feedback.
