China's Ministry of Commerce reports that as the system of export pre-check and signature was invalid as of May 2008, several regulations on Strengthening Coordination Management on Exported Commodities and the Provisional Regulations on Penalizing Low-Price Export (No.2 Decree of the MOFCOM in 2010) shall be revoked after the deliberation at the 41st ministerial meeting of the MOFCOM on August 16, 2010.
The European Council has reached agreement on a draft regulation aimed at revising the European Union system for the standard description of fibers and the labeling of textile products.
Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry reports that Japan has requested World Trade Organization consultations with the Canadian government on Ontario's Feed-in Tariff Program, in which electricity generated by using renewable energy (e.g. solar and wind energy) is subsidized. The Program sets forth certain local content requirements, which accords less favorable treatments to imported equipment than those made in Ontario.
