Clear Terms

Search Primer

Multi-word term: Place inside quotes to ensure an exact match together (e.g. "forced labor").

Term list: Separate terms with spaces, not commas or semicolons to find either word (e.g. AD/CVD CBP).

Acronyms: Use all capital letters (e.g., ACE).

Required term: If a term must be included in any resulting articles, prefix it with a plus sign (e.g., tariffs +Canada).

Excluded term: If a term should be excluded from any articles being found, prefix it with a minus sign (e.g., FDA -alert).

Simplest form: Use the simplest form of a term (e.g. "metal" instead of "metals" or "entity list" instead of "entity listing" or "entity listed").

TSA Says Flights Between U.S. and Liberia Could Start in Fall 2010

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) announced on August 30, 2010 the successful implementation of cooperative efforts to enhance aviation security. As a result, flights between the United States and Liberia could begin as early as fall 2010.

Commerce Announces IT & Communications Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia

The Commerce Department's U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service is organizing an Information and Communication Technologies trade mission to Saudi Arabia, April 2-5, 2011. Led by a senior Commerce Department official, this trade mission will introduce suppliers of information technology and communication products and services to potential buyers and allow them to explore new business opportunities.

President Announces Comprehensive Infrastructure Plan

On September 6, 2010, President Obama announced a comprehensive infrastructure plan to expand and renew U.S. roads, railways and runways at the Laborfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The plan builds upon the infrastructure investments the President has already made through the Recovery Act, includes principles the President put forth during the campaign, and emphasizes U.S. competitiveness and innovation. APHIS Agricultural Clearance PPQ Manual Updated

On September 2, 2010, APHIS updated the Manual for Agricultural Clearance. The manual provides CBP personnel working at airport and maritime locations with the guidelines, directions, and policy for clearing carriers and passengers/crew and controlling garbage and cargo.
