USTR: On Path for Stability With China
U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said that whether the deal that was just signed with China is a one-year de-escalation, or more, "is in China's hands to some degree." He called the period a confidence-building step, but that if China doesn't do as it promised, then the U.S. has other options.

"I think the president put us on the path for some stability in that relationship," he said on Fox Business, and said that leaving half the fentanyl tariffs in place gives the U.S. continued leverage.
Greer said the Section 301 investigation launched to see if China kept its promises in the phase one deal is continuing.
