ITA Is Accepting Applications for Allocations of 2006 TRQs for Worsted Wool Fabrics
The International Trade Administration (ITA) has issued a notice announcing that it is accepting applications from persons (including firms, corporations, or other legal entities) who cut and sew men's and boys' worsted wool suits and suit-like jackets and trousers in the U.S. for an allocation of the 2006 "in-quota" tariff rate quotas (TRQs) for:

worsted wool fabric with average fiber diameters greater than 18.5 microns as provided by HTS 9902.51.11 (apply using Form ITA-4139P); and
worsted wool fabric with average fiber diameters of 18.5 microns or less as provided by HTS 9902.51.15 (formerly HTS 9902.51.12) (apply using Form ITA-4140P).
The ITA states that in order to be considered, applications must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. on October 3, 2005. According to the ITA, application forms and instructions are available at http://web.ita.doc.gov/tacgi/wooltrq.nsf/TRQApp.
ITA to Notify Applicants of 2006 TRQ Allocations, Etc.
The ITA states that it will publish in the Federal Register its determination to allocate the 2006 TRQs and will notify applicants of their respective allocation as soon as possible after that date. Promptly thereafter, the ITA will issue licenses to eligible applicants.
Miscellaneous Trade Bill Extended Program Through 2007
The ITA states that this program was amended by the Miscellaneous Trade and Technical Corrections Act of 2004 (Public Law (P.L.) 108-429) by extending the program through 2007 and by increasing the TRQ under HTS 9902.51.11 to an annual total level of 5.5 million m2 and the TRQ under HTS 9902.51.15 (previously HTS 9902.51.12) to an annual total level of 5 million m2.
